TikTok isn’t only for doom-scrolling, it’s for finding inspiration for new projects! iForager is inspired by the proliferation of amateur naturalists online and the young audience that they have grown. I wanted to create an app that centers around IDing plants and sharing your finds with others to make foraging more accessible to people who might otherwise think you have to be a botanist to collect plants.
The app’s color scheme is rooted in the natural world. Though green tends to be an unpopular color for apps, it serves as an obvious link to the app’s purpose. The app encourages users to travel through and engage with nature, with a map for a home screen. It tells you immediately- you are not supposed to sit at home while using this app.
